A distinct part of Telugu speaking areas, from Madras State, formed as 'Andhra State' a separate State on October 1, 1953. Newly formed Andhra state possessed 11 districts in the Telugu-speaking portion of Madras State and chosen Kurnool as the capital.

Formation of Andhra Pradesh is known as milestone in the history of Indian Republic. It played a significant role in preserving demographic stature of similar culture, traditions of respective South Indian Regions. It also led the foundation in formation of Maharashtra & Gujarat.

| Kurnool was the first capital of Andhra.

Therefore, the State of ‘Andhra State’ reformed by merging districts of Coastal Andhra, Rayalaseema & Telangana on November 1, 1956 and remarked as ‘Andhra Pradesh’.
